Today Mojang has released their first third party video game called Cobalt. It is currently for sale at half off for $13 during Alpha mode. When Beta comes out it will be offered at a 25% discount. The game is a two dimensional multiplayer platformer from Oxeye Game Studio. It includes a copious amount of activities.
It’s hard to describe the game, but someone who watched the trailer was so excited about it that they commented: “TAKE MY WIFE, MY KIDS, MY CAR KEYS, MY MONEY, JUST GIVE ME THAT GAME!”.
Alpha mode content will include hot seat multiplayer, a level editor and work on the co-op and single player campaign. This version will only be available for windows. Beta mode content will include a completed level editor, and in-game level sharing will be introduced with more work on the co-op and single player campaign. This version will be available for Mac OS X, Linux and Windows. The gold version is the completed game. Mojang plans to give users a master account, one that will work for all of the games that they release. More details on this will be provided later.
Mojang has more games in the works, so we can wait in anticipation for more fun games to be released. As for now, we are all Beta testers for Cobalt.
